The Manifesto
The Villa Monument, designed by Andrea Palladio, will always and only be a World Heritage Site. We owners will not allow any transformation or reuse and we will dedicate them very special attentions in respect of his story.
From now on we want to secure the parapets of the external staircase, the murals of the loggia exposed to the weather, the roof, the holes in the attics. In the meantime, the best experts in the field must prepare a general maintenance plan extraordinary of the good, to be approved by the Superintendence, which aims to safeguard every fragment of Andrea Palladio's original thought.
It will remain without fixed electric lighting, without heating or air conditioning, without running water, bathrooms or anything else that has not been present in its history. All this will be able to find a place in the colonnade (barchessa), which must be rebuilt as soon as possible.
We know that this patronage is unusual because we want the important work of maintaining the good, which we do not call restoration, to be:
Villa Forni Cerato is reborn to be a protected place, "sacred" for those who love Palladio, a cultural site and meeting place to study and discuss architecture, art, restoration, conservation, history, especially Palladio.
It is located in Montecchio Precalcino in the province of Vicenza: here schools and universities around the world will be welcome, here young people will see a work from the Vicenza Renaissance, sculptures by Alessandro Vittoria, the places of the history of Girolamo Forni, above all they will see Palladio.
